On this #PurpleThursday, I wanted to share my reason for wearing purple:
I’m wearing purple today because according to the CCADV Annual Fatality Review, 6 out of 14 cases of intimate partner homicides that happened in Connecticut, involved signs and incidents of violence that happened at work, where co-workers could have intervened. One is too many, and knowing the warning signs that someone may be in an unhealthy or abusive relationship is key to preventing violence and supporting survivors. We all are responsible to look out for each other, so I’m wearing purple on #purplethursday to start a conversation about Domestic Violence in my community.
